PLEASE NOTE:

From 1st September 2012, we will no longer accept repeat prescription requests over the telephone.

We have received a lot of feedback from patients who feel they struggle to get through to the surgery because the lines are very busy.  A recent survey in the practice found that calls for repeat prescriptions alone was taking up 15 hours per week.  This has prompted us to no longer accept repeat prescription requests over the telephone, in line with most other local surgeries.  We hope this will free our telephone lines for patients with more urgent queries to get through.

Thank you for your understanding.

Repeat Prescriptions

pill_spill2If you are running out of your usual medicines, you can order another prescription from the surgery using various methods. Please be aware that the surgery requires at least 2 working days notice before collection. If you are requesting medication that you do not regularly use, it make take longer than this for your prescription to be processed.

Online:

You can now order your prescriptions online, using EMIS Access. This is a secure internet service designed specifically for GP surgeries. You will first need to register for EMIS Access at the surgery, where you will be given a registration form which will include a PIN and ID number. You will need to bring two forms of valid form of identification (one picture e.g. passport/driving licence and address proof e.g. utility bill) with you in order to register for EMIS Access. If you have already registered for EMIS Access, click on the link on this page to go to the EMIS Access website.

Pharmacy:

Most pharmacies will deal with ordering, prescribing and delivery (if necessary) of your prescriptions. Please contact your preferred pharmacy to discuss and organise this service.

In person:

You can come in to the surgery in person to drop off your request. You should speak to the receptionist in the reception booth regarding this.

Post:

Send a stamped addressed envelope together with your prescription request and your prescription will be posted to you once completed. You can download a prescription request form by clicking here.

To maintain a high quality of service, the doctors would like all patients on regular medication to be reviewed from time to time. You may be asked to attend the surgery periodically to see a doctor or nurse for review

Noticeboard

IMPORTANT PATIENT NOTICE:

ORDERING REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

From 1st September 2012, you will no longer be able to order your prescription over the telephone.  This is because our lines have become so busy, making it difficult for patients with urgent queries to get through.

The ways to order your repeat prescription will be:

*Online - please bring two forms of ID (one photographic) to reception and we will give you the access details.

*Pharmacy - most pharmacies will deal with ordering, dispensing (and delivery should you require) prescriptions.

*By Post/Hand - you can post the right hand side of your prescription to us or hand it over at the reception desk.

We hope you will understand the need to make this change. A recent survey in the practice showed the calls we take for repeat prescriptions alone take an average of 15 hours per week.

Many thanks for understanding.
